For a great view over Kyogle, the main street and the surrounding rolling hills, this is the place to go. There are no facilities or seating up here, purely stand and enjoy the view to both the north and south. The narrow winding road up to the lookout, located on Fairy Mount, passes through a residential area and is NOT suitable for vehicles towing caravans. A possible alternative is Memorial Park on Highfield Rd which also offers a fantasic view.
A walking trail from the Lookout leads to the trig station on top of Fairy Mount. It is quite a steep and slow walk which can be rough at times (suitable walking shoes are recommended) but the views are well worth the effort. There are great views out over Kyogle let alone up the Fawcetts Plains valley to the north, plus the Border Ranges National park and Qld border in the distance to the north, whilst walking up. Along the way, you need to pass through a few gates. This walk could take upto an hour to reach the top as it is hard going unless you are fit and energetic, so about half that time for the return walk down hill.
