Woodenbong B&B

A 90 year old farm building has been converted into a perfect self-contained couples retreat which has a queen sized bed, bathroom, colour TV, sofa, microwave, toaster and tea/coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast is available at an extra cost. A wood heater will keep you cosy in winter, a lovely fan will cool you in summer and there is a car port to protect your car. Sit on the covered deck overlooking the beautiful McPherson Ranges or get up close and personal with the cows and calves and draught horses (these are fenced off from the cabin). Perhaps you would like to walk around the 20 acre block, along the creek or on the Woodenbong Common, or watch draught horse collars and harness being made amongst a collection of horse drawn farm machinery.

Come and stay in our beautifully restored country house at the foot of the Border Ranges, just 15klms north of Kyogle. We have 2 lovely quiet rooms both with ensuites and fine linen, a guest lounge room with TV, library, cards, board games and CD player and a guest dining room with tea and coffee making facilities and usually some home made ‘somethings’ to enjoy with a cuppa.

Both bedrooms have French doors leading onto the wide verandah which overlooks dairy flats and the Border Ranges. There are reduced rates for 3 or more nights- don’t hesitate to ask about rates. Credit card facilites available.

We offer a wide range of breakfasts from the delicious local produce of bacon, sausages, lambs fry and home grown eggs or pancakes supplemented where ever possible from our organic garden. Three courses offered for breakfast including juices, tea/coffee with the cooked breakfast. Other meals offered may include Asian style Juk (chicken rice porridge) Pho (Vietnamese Beef Soup with veggies) or Roti ( warm home made unlevened bread) and curry and pretty much anything else you can think of. We can also provide dinner by prior arrangement. No dogs or children allowed at these premises.

Chauvel Park -Tabulam

Enjoy the homely welcoming ambience of our visitors cottage in the grounds of Chauvel Park.The Garden Cottage is fully self-contained accommodation with two double bedrooms, one single bedroom plus further single bed located in a separate alcove area. The cottage also features an open fireplace for those beautiful winter nights.

If travelling with pets there is space for them to unwind too, be they large or small and a paddock next to the cottage will accommodate even the largest horse.

Chauvel Park is on the edge of the village of Tabulam, 69 km east of Tenterfield and 55 km west of Casino on the Bruxner Highway. We are located on twelve acres of beautiful rural land that has eight hundred metres of Clarence River frontage.

Chauvel Park now offers horse riding with one hour trail rides. When you check out the accommodation availability please request full details if you would like to have a ride, but if quiet contemplation is more your style the garden provides a number of beautiful vistas and the bird-life is rich and friendly. You might also catch a glimpse of the resident possum. This historic property is the last vestige of the old ‘Tabulam Station’ once a huge land holding stretching beyond the Queensland border and later the Chauvel’s breeding ground for the famous Light Horse, so as you sit in reverie you might just hear the feint neigh of horses and the clinking of bridles as the Light Horse muster in readiness, on the eve of their departure into the realms of War, Fame and History.
