Lanikai Wildlife Refuge and Camping Ground offers 2,500 acres of declared Wildlife Refuge. Home to over 150 bird species, this idyllic location, with its breathtaking views of the Upper Clarence and 2 acres of lush gardens and walking tracks, is the perfect place for bird watchers, wilderness enthusiasts and naturalists looking for an authentic wilderness experience.
Pitch a tent, park a motorhome, caravan or trailer on the camping ground and relax. The camping ground has hot showers and flushing toilets. The undercover area with BBQ, table and bush kitchen is a good place to talk, eat or listen to the Honeyeaters in the Banksias and Glossy Cockatoos in the Forest Oaks.
Suggested activities: a bushwalk along the 2km Pretty Gully Creek frontage or rainforest regeneration area. Walk to the river, as the property has a 3km Clarence River frontage, go fishing, watch wildlife, watch the stars, and see the rainforest reserve.
Fires are permitted at some places on the camping ground (see Jim for info). Some firewood is supplied, but please keep fires small. The showers are wood heated by the heater at the back of the showers, so please use hot water in moderation.
Motorbikes may only be used to access the camping ground from Paddy’s Flat Road. There is NO TRACK RIDING allowed. 4WDs may be used to access points of interest on tracks around the property in dry weather.
