Gullibul Daytime Dreaming Cultural Tours

The event is part of Richmond RiverFest 2026

Step onto Country and experience the stories, culture and landscapes of the Gullibul Nation.

As part of Richmond RiverFest 2026, Kyogle Council and Gugin Gudduba Local Aboriginal Land Council (GGLALC) invite you to join a unique cultural journey through the upper Richmond River catchment.

Led by respected Gullibul Elder Michael (Wayne) Walker and Gullibul Language Teacher Kye Walker, these immersive tours offer a rare opportunity to learn directly from Traditional Custodians and gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal cultural connections to rivers, waterways and Country.

Participants will travel by bus to a number of culturally significant locations within the Gullibul Nation, including Kyogle Aboriginal cultural sites, Cedar Point (sacred site), Wogun (Fairymount) and Wiangaree cultural storyline sites. Along the way, guests will hear traditional stories, learn about Aboriginal language and culture, and explore Indigenous approaches to land management, environmental stewardship and caring for Country.

A picnic lunch will be provided at Wiangaree, giving participants time to connect with the landscape and reflect on the cultural knowledge shared throughout the day.
