QLD – Andrew Drynan Park

Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee.  The park is divided by The Lions Road and care should be taken with children. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp among the tall trees. As some of the pools are deep, children should be supervised.

Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent.
Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east.

Wallaby Creek Cottage

A completely private and secluded, self-contained cottage set high in the hills, overlooking a lush grazing valley and forested National Park. Wallaby Creek is a cattle and forestry property of 500 acres, managed for production, conservation and self-sufficiency. The valley is well-known for its wildlife, especially birdlife and the families of kangaroos and wallabies that graze to the cottage doorstep. The cottage is comfortably appointed for one or two couples, with two queen size bedrooms.

It has a fully equipped kitchen, solar and gas power, a bathroom and a verandah with stunning views. Wood for the glassed-in fireplace and linen are provided. Wallaby Creek is close to waterfalls, rainforest walks and small towns of Urbenville, Woodenbong and Killarney. We’ve made the tariff so reasonable that you’ll be able to stay a while (eg $400 for 6 or 7 nights), $200 for two nights, and $60 for each additional night. Longer stays are welcome. Because we love living here, and we’d be happy to share it with you, we keep the tariffs low. Wallaby Creek Cottage is ideal for romantic weekends or weeks, family time, walking in the bush, exploring the creeks and bird species, relaxing on the verandah, cooking up a storm for special company and complete peace and quiet.

Mount Clunie Cabins via Woodenbong

At the foot of World Heritage listed Mount Clunie Flora Reserve, two comfortable self-contained cabins make the perfect base from which to enjoy an amazing spectacle of sky, mountains and forest. Spectacular vistas await you, 14 kilometres of bush walking tracks wind through ancient rainforests to grass tree topped ridges, home to 180 identified species of birds and an abundant assortment of wildlife.

Two very appealing self- contained cabins can sleep up to 6 people in each and are gas powered, including the charm of gas lighting. They feature a generous kitchen, wood combustion fire, star gazing deck and sweeping mountain views. They are equipped with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Bed-linen and towels are provided for the main bedroom only. Being self-contained you need to bring all your own food supplies and personal items. Don’t forget suitable walking boots/shoes and attire and linen for 2nd bedroom (if necessary). Also pack your camera, binoculars, good reading book etc. No phone, no TV but so much to do—-

Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park

The Park is situated at the northern end of town, a short stroll North of the Kyogle Visitor Information Centre, which doubles as the Caravan Park Office. The Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is a 5 minute walk to the CBD, supermarket, shops, pubs and 10 minutes walk to either of the Golf or Bowls clubs.

Two new tourist cabins installed at the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park and the refurbished caretaker’s residence are now available to book. The residence and cabins are fully self-contained and provide visitors to Kyogle and district with even more accommodation options. The cabins can be relocated during a flood and each has a deck off the front door. One of the cabins can sleep a maximum of three people, while the other can sleep up to four people. The fully renovated three-bedroom caretaker’s residence can sleep up to 10 people. Bookings for the cabins and the residence are for a minimum two-night stay. Moving with the times, the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is switching to an online booking system which will enable guests to find, book and pay for their accommodation straight away and reduce the handling of cash.

Well treed, shade covered park. Unpowered and Powered sites for both camping and vans are available. The caravan park has 17 concrete pad sites and a grassed area for tent camping. Disabled toilet facilities, pet friendly, BBQ area, amenities block with laundry.

Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park – Terms and Conditions

Site conditions

Site fees for powered and unpowered camping sites include the first two adults.

Maximum number of people per powered or unpowered camping site is 6, including children and infants.

Your site will be marked out and you are required to keep your belongings within this area. You have an allocation of strictly one vehicle per site.

Under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult (see Clause on Unaccompanied Minors below).

All fees and charges are in Australian dollars, and are subject to change.

Bookings paid in full, and confirmed as accurate, will not incur new fees and charges prior to or during time of stay.

Cabins and Residence have linen provided for an additional fee per person per booking

Powered and unpowered sites minimum stay : 1 night

Powered and unpowered sites maximum stay : 28 nights

Cabins and residence minimum stay: 2 Nights

Cabins and residence maximum stay: 14 Nights – If you book linen, fresh linen will be supplied after a period of five days.

Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is committed to providing guests with a smoke-free environment. All properties are smoke-free.

Payment of site fees

Bookings will remain incomplete until payment is received in full.

Changes to bookings

Booking dates may be altered subject to availability, by giving 7 days notice prior to your scheduled arrival date, by contacting our Booking Centre on 02 66 321204.

You may change a booking to decrease the number of nights, giving 7 days notice, however if you do so you will not be entitled to a refund.

Changes that result in an increase in fees will require the payment of the difference in the initial fee paid, and the new fees owing.

Bookings that result in a decrease of camping fees will be forfeited.

If changes are made to a booking and they incur a credit, those funds will be forfeited.

We do not offer a credit or a refund for any unused nights, or if you depart your site before your booked departure date.

Cancellations

You may cancel your booking by doing so at least 7 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.

Regardless of your initial method of payment, you will not be entitled to a refund, but will be issued a credit for the balance of any unused stay.

Any balance of fees will be held in credit for use within 12 months from the date of cancellation. Should you not use your credit by the end of the 12 month period, it will be forfeited to Kyogle Council.

You may cancel your booking by contacting our Booking Centre on 02 66321204.

If you do not give at least 7 days notice to cancel your booking, we are not able to offer a credit.

We do not offer a credit for any unused nights, or if you depart your site before your booked departure date.

Request to extend your stay

A request to extend your stay made immediately before or during your stay will be considered where possible.

You may request to extend your booking by contacting our Booking Centre on 02 66321204.

Personal behaviour & misconduct during your stay

Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park has a zero tolerance of abuse of other park patrons, our staff or visitors to the park. Failure to comply with Park Rules may result in eviction from the park.

Refunds

We will reject a claim for a refund based on circumstances outside of our control including:

  • Unfavourable or unpleasant weather conditions before or during the camping or other activity.
  • Personal decisions to change visit plans.
  • Personal decisions to arrive some time after the permit start date or leave before the permit end date.
  • Ill health or sickness

Early departure

Park patrons who leave the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park early, or do not arrive on their scheduled arrival day, will not be entitled to a refund or credit.

Adverse weather is not a reason for either refund or credit.

Booking confirmation and booking numbers

When you book & pay for accommodation on our website you will have your confirmation sent to you by email. In this email you will receive a booking number confirming that your stay has been booked and paid for. We will use this number to confirm your stay in our Caravan park.

The confirmation entitles you to a campsite, cabin or residence for dates as printed on the confirmation. You should keep your booking number or confirmation email for the duration of your stay. It is your responsibility to keep this information safe.

During your stay, you may be asked to produce a copy of your confirmation or asked for your booking number by an authorised Kyogle Council officer.

Site selection

In the unlikely event that we are unable to provide a site or cabin on the date listed on your booking confirmation documents, you will be offered an alternative site or cabin, or alternate dates. If we are unable to make suitable arrangements for alternate accommodation or dates, you may be offered a full or part refund in recognition of the change to your booking. See the Refunds section above for full details.

Use of campfires and or cooking devices

The use of solid fuel (wood or other solid matter) is strictly prohibited.

Electric or gas heating and cooking fires are permitted but must remain under constant supervision and must not be placed within 3 meters of neighbouring sites.

Always observe fire bans. Extinguish all fires once cooking is complete.

Bonfires are not permitted.

Fireworks are not permitted.

Chainsaws are not permitted.

Dogs

Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times.

You are responsible for your dog at all times, and you may be asked to leave the park if your dog exhibits bad behaviour or makes excessive noise.

Conditions of entry

An official receipt of payment is recognised as acceptance by all park patrons and their guests, of these regulations, and as an official permit to stay during its period of currency, unless it is made void sooner as a result of misconduct as described in the above Guidelines, or on regulatory signs.

Kyogle Council Staff are authorised to evict park patrons or their guests if they have failed to perform or observe any of the obligations listed in the Guidelines, or contravene any requirements listed on regulatory notices. Verbal notice by the Kyogle Council authorised personnel is sufficient. In the case of an eviction, fees paid will not be refunded.

Unaccompanied minors

All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent, step-parent, guardian or other adult who has parental rights and responsibilities for the under 18 year old guest.

If a guest is found to be a person under the age of 18 who is not accompanied by a responsible adult, Kyogle Council may immediately cancel the guest’s booking and the full booking amount will be forfeited to Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park under this clause.

Smoke free properties

Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is committed to providing its guests with a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited within all park buildings and in all park communal areas including toilet blocks, laundries and barbeque areas.

Liability

By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions of stay, you acknowledge that you are responsible for any and all of your guests, and equipment that are bought into the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park.

Responsibility

Kyogle Council will provide services with reasonable care and skill. Kyogle Council, both for itself and on behalf of their employees or agents, do not accept any responsibility for any act, omission, default or neglect of themselves, their employees or agents for injury, damage, or loss to persons or goods whatsoever or however the same may be caused and they do not warrant and are in no way responsible for the accuracy of any information given in statements made by their service providers in terms of accommodation & service arrangements.

By utilising the services provided by Kyogle Council, you agree that:

1) Kyogle Council shall not be liable for the wilful or negligent acts and/or omissions of such carriers and/or service providers.

2) Kyogle Council will not be liable for any accident, injury, delay, property damage or personal loss to you or those travelling with you in connection with any accommodation, transportation, or other travel services resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrences or conditions beyond its control, including but not limited to acts of terrorism, act of God, defects in vehicles, war, strikes, theft, delay, cancellation, civil disorder, disaster, Government regulations or changes in itinerary or schedule.

Evacuation plan

Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the evacuation plan for Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park in case of an emergency. A copy of the evacuation plan is located in the amenities blocks, cabins, residence and information centre.
In case of emergency, please remain calm and follow instruction from staff.

Grevillia Country Retreat -Grevillia

Fully self-contained cottages set in their own private gardens on a fully operational beef property close to historic Grevillia timber village. There are 2 cottages; 1 x 2 bedroom (sleeps 7) and the other 2 x bedroom + bunk house (sleeps 10). As the retreat is isolated, definitely bring your own food, bed linen (blankets supplied) and towels. Both cottage tariffs are cheaper for longer stays.
You may choose to rest and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the bush or you may like to participate in the daily activities of the property. Other activities in close proximity are to explore the rainforests of national parks, bushwalking, visit a fully operational robotic dairy farm, four wheel driving, and fishing in the rivers and dams.

Grevillia is situated 33 KM north-west of Kyogle along the Summerland Way (2 hours south on the Mt. Lindsay Highway from Brisbane and the Gold Coast). All services and facilities are located in nearby Kyogle.

Findon Creek Cottage – Grevillia via Kyogle

There is nothing quite like this cottage is nestled in a quiet valley between the Border Ranges National Park , northern NSW and Mt Lindesay State Forest of Southern Queensland, approx 37kms north of the township of Kyogle.

A fully self-contained two storey country cottage overlooking Findon Creek and with classic country views.

Dairy Flat Farm Holidays-Woodenbong

Situated in the upper reaches of the Richmond River underneath Mt Lindesay and close to the World Heritage listed Border Ranges National Park, approx 9 kms from Woodenbong and 60kms north of Kyogle. We offer self contained cottages from one to three bedrooms and the five bedroom homestead. The five bedroom, two ensuite Homestead sleeps 11 people. Dairy Flat is primarily a dairy farm and some activities include the farmyard, calf feeding, cow milking, bush walking, bird watching (recent bird watching groups have recorded 188 species of birds) and a tennis court and salt water swimming pool are available. Local drives to nearby National Parks and forest areas are also activities you can be involved in.  The property is in a valley formed by the McPherson Range (Qld Border), with Mt Lindesay and Glennies Chair, both volcanic cores, forming the north/east boundaries of the property.

All accommodation have full kitchen facilities, either wood stove or pot belly stove for cold winter nights. Automatic washing machines and dryers (no linen provided). All you need to bring is your food and linen.

We have delibrately not installed television, radio or telephone in the cottages. Urgent phone messages can be left with the manager.

Clarence River Wilderness Lodge -Tabulam

Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, just 3 hours from Brisbane is situated on the headwaters of the Clarence River in the rugged Great Dividing Range. Four thousand hectares of river crafted country has been preserved in a wildlife refuge that is noted for the diverse abundance of its native animals and the wild splendour of its scenery.

The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge can provide a range of activities during your stay. The canoes are available free of charge for guests or a fee for day visitors. Bushwalking and birdwatching are popular past times here with over 160 different types of birds sighted in this area. A handbook on birds and bird lists are available at the Lodge before setting out on your bird search.

Bordered by National Parks this is a great place to get back to nature with activities that include gold panning, observing animals, platypus viewing. “The Lodge” – 2 self contained cabins which sleep either 4 or 8 people. Each cabin has a gas hot water system, gas stove, fridge, cooking utensils and solar powered lighting. Sit on the verandah or under the stars and enjoy the quiet.

Bush huts – spend a while under canvas in authentic bushmans huts with private verandahs nestled into the hills, but using shared amenities (wood-fired showers and compost toilet) and camp kitchen. The huts have bunk beds (x4) or a double bed (accommodating 2 people only).

The Camping sites are on a 5ha mown river flat, with a small unisex shared compost amenities unit with access also to wood-fired showers. Check their website for current tariffs for accommodation and activities.
