SUMMARY:HAVE YOUR SAY | Northern Rivers Disaster Adaptation Plan
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThe Northern Rivers region is no stranger to disasters. It is one of Australia’s most flood-prone regions\, and experiences many other natural hazards such as bush fires\, storms and cyclones\, heatwaves and coastal erosion. These hazards are expected to become more severe and more frequent as our climate continues to change. \nThe NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is developing the first multi hazard Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP) in the Northern Rivers. \nThe Northern Rivers DAP will include actions to reduce risk from natural hazards where possible and support communities to adapt where we can’t. Some of these actions can be delivered in the short-term\, while others may need further investigation and be delivered over time. \nJoin the conversation \nKyogle local government area residents can learn more about disaster risk in their region and share their ideas to reduce risk either online from 5 to 30 June\, or in-person at a community drop-in sessions being held in the area including at: \n\nKyogle Memorial Institute Hall on Tuesday\, 23 June from 3pm-6pm\n\nOther drop-in sessions will be held at Murwillumbah on Monday 15 June\, Ballina on Wednesday 17 June\, Maclean on Thursday 18 June\, Casino on Friday 19 June\, Lismore on Wednesday 24 June\, and Mullumbimby on Friday 26 June. \n  \n\n  \n  \n\n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
