back to listingThe Finch Family Maritime Museum
This maritime museum is one of a kind, noted as the only ‘bush town’ museum in Australia.
It is a treasure trove of maritime memorabilia, including complete radio room equipment, various international uniforms, radars and a full size ship’s mast. All the items on display within the museum, which is located within the bow of an old ship, have been collected by the Finch Family, with the families sea history dating back to 1864.
The museum entrance fee is by gold coin donation, which is funded to the Far North Coast Legacy, which helps support the widows and dependants of ex-service men and women who have lost their lives.
Delve into the history of the naval and merchant by taking a tour through this private collection which is situated in a private residence at 45 Highfield Rd Kyogle. The museum is open daily by request.
