The cinema in Bloore St, closed its doors in march 2011 after owner/operator Stuart Everatt & his wife Margaret announced their retirement. At the time the couple said they planned to sell the cinema complex. But community-based economic development organisation, Growing Kyogle was able to secure a three year lease of the complex to run the cinema as a community project.
Its aim is to provide people of Kyogle and district with an entertainment venue and provide employment and training for the town’s youth. It’s also hoped the cinema will become a tourist and visitor destination and will help promote local businesses and the area’s many attractions.
Small local cinema complex, 2 screens.
