Stuart Everett was born in Kyogle in 1937 and began his love affair with the cinema at the age of 12, when he started work for Mr. T.J. Dorgan who owned the Kyogle Roxy Theatre at the time. By the age of 15 Stuart was running the movies every Saturday at Gatton Agricultural College using the Kalee 7 projectors and Magnacoustain Sound Heads and Arc lights. For several years Stuart worked as a travelling showman presenting 16mm movies at Kyogle, Casino and Evans Head and has worked as a projectionist in various cinemas.

With the establishment of Kyogle Cinema (later renamed Richmond Valley Cinema) and incorporating “Fairymount Flicks Cinema Museum” Stuart has been able to fullfill his dreams and has set up one of the most extensive displays of working vintage cinema equipment in Australia.
