Mallanganee Bakery is a locally-owned and operated business, dating back three generations. Starting with Gail's grandfather Bill 'Poppa' Newstead, it has been in the family for over 80 years. Also referred to as "the Pie shop" as they have a reputation as making the best pies in the district. Pies and pastries such sausage rolls etc are the order of each day. Only sold in the store and no longer wholesaled elsewhere. Due to health problems, these days ( early 2010) the shop is open irregular hours and may change at a moments notice.
