Indigenous Cuisine can be enjoyed at the Bunawlbu Café and Aboriginal Art Gallery situated in Bonalbo, a very small isolated rural village, which offers a fusion of traditional Aboriginal/Indigenous foods with modern Australian cuisine. Pop in and enjoy a light refreshment or a meal, which could include either crocodile or kangaroo meat pies. If you wish to try their authentic indigenous foods, it is advisable to give them a call either the day before or on the morning so they can be sure to have it available. The venue can cater for functions - 100 guests. From May 2010 the Cafe will trial being open 7 days per week, but closing a 3pm because of the cooler weather in their district during the winter months and then they will decide on the warmer months. Come for a leisurely drive out the western side of the Kyogle Shire and enjoy both some great food and scenic views along the way. Whilst you are there, take time to view the art works in the Indigenious Art Gallery, next door.
