Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, just 3 hours from Brisbane is situated on the headwaters of the Clarence River in the rugged Great Dividing Range. A forgotten pocket of Australia, where nature reigns supreme. Four thousand hectares of river crafted country has been preserved in a wildlife refuge that is noted for the diverse abundance of its native animals and the wild splendour of its scenery.

The Clarence River wilderness Lodge can provide a range of activities during your stay. The canoes are available free of charge for guests, (or a fee for day visitors), bushwalking and birdwatching are popular past times here. Over 160 different types of birds have been sighted in this area. A handbook on birds, and birdlists are available at the Lodge before setting out on your birdsearch.
Bordered by National Parks this is a great place to get back to nature. Other activities include gold panning, observing natural animals, platypus viewing. Accommodation facilities include “The Lodge” 2 self contained cabins which sleep either 4 or 8 people. Each cabin has a gas hot water system with gas stove, fridge, cooking utensils and solar powered lighting, with verandahs or sit out under the stars and enjoy the quiet.  Bush huts-spend a while under canvas in authentic bushmans huts with private verandahs nestled into the hills, but using shared amenities (wood-fired showers and compost toilet) and camp kitchen. The huts have bunk beds (x4) or a doublebed (accommodating 2 people only).
The Camping sites are on a 5ha mown river flat, with a small unisex shared compost amenities unit with access also to wood-fired showers. Check their website for current tariffs for accommodation and activities.
